We value the importance of social engagement and activism. As a progressive organisation, we encourage various forms of social involvement, such as volunteering and political mandates, which are important ways to achieve social change. Through these trainings, we aim to share tools to facilitate social change.

Inclusive protesting

  • “If I can’t dance to it, it’s not my revolution,” said Emma Goldman. At Empoway, we say, “If everyone can’t dance to it, it’s not my revolution.’ Protests and social movements can only make an impact when they are inclusive of everyone. But how do you organise a protest in an inclusive way?

Civic engagement

  • Civic engagement can take many forms: protesting, contacting politicians, supporting charities, running for political office… In this workshop, we provide a comprehensive overview of the different forms of civic engagement and the role you can play as an individual and a collective in our society.

Climate change

  • Climate change and global warming are undeniable facts. But what are the main causes? What international treaties have been signed, and are they sufficient? And what can we do as individuals? Find out in this workshop!

Stand up for your rights

  • What are your rights as a person with a disability? What does the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities say? And are these rights being met in your country? Learn more about your rights in areas like employment, education, healthcare, and much more in this workshop!
